Canon will never admit they have a problem with there 7D, I'm still going through repair issues with the focusing on this camera, I've had 4 of them now, Canon sent me 3 different cameras because they couldn't fix the other three, every time I got the camera back they said they adjusted something but said they couldn't find any problems with it, I wonder why you would adjust something when you didn't find any problems and why would you send me 3 different cameras if there was no problems with them, they have my 7D now and I'm waiting to see what happens with this one I told them I want my money back because it's worthless to send it back to me. IMHO it's junk.

My joint is pretty fancy because it uses a bayonet mount from an old Vivitar flash hand grip. In it's simplest form it can be made with a piece of an L-shaped metal profile. I will posted additional pictures to explain the details

I bought mine in Walmart. It is a generic brand. I mounted a Canon 5D with a battery grip. It holds the camera steady steady when car is not moving. In a moving vehicle plastic body of the suction cup gives way and the camera rig wobbles. I will keep my eye on a more solid cup construction. What you want is a cap body made of metal.

also, how did you connect the manfroto head to the suction cup? Is it as easy as drilling a hole and bolting it down? Would drilling a hole compromise the strength of the suction?

OMG. I was so excited when you mentioned Creme Brulee. Maybe you should master making them next and than we can have it together with the perfect espresso.
